Alajawan Brown Scholarship Fund

Honoring a legacy by creating opportunities that shape brighter futures.

Alajawan Brown Scholarship Program

The purpose of the Alajawan Brown Scholarship is to support youth who wish to participate in sports, attend camps, or engage in other life-enhancing activities but may be unable to do so due to financial constraints. Through these opportunities, recipients can develop essential life skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication, conflict resolution, and sportsmanship, while also benefiting from active, healthy lifestyles.

At the beginning of each year, or as needed, the ABSF Board will determine the total funds available, the number of awards to be distributed, and the amount of each award. The Board will then communicate the availability of funding and application procedures to relevant youth sports organizations, camps, and related entities.

Award Process and Guidelines

  • Awards will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • The ABSF Board will establish application deadlines and specific eligibility criteria.

  • All applications will be reviewed and approved or denied during the next scheduled Board meeting following submission.

Distribution of Funds

Upon approval:

  • For sports or camp participation, applicants must provide documentation of registration costs. Payments will be made directly to the organization hosting the activity and will not exceed the approved award amount. Payments may be less than the approved amount based on submitted documentation.

  • For all other qualifying activities, payments will be made directly to the service provider or organization upon receipt of appropriate documentation (e.g., invoices, registration confirmations, acceptance letters).

Reporting and Confidentiality

At the final ABSF Board meeting of the year, the President will report the total number of awards granted, the amounts distributed, and the general purpose of the funding. The identities of recipients will remain confidential unless explicit permission is granted for public recognition.
